Jenna Langan knows what she wants, and as she tells her best friends after their weekly knitting group, she doesn't need a man to give it to her.only a few of his best swimmers. And just because her marriage to undercover vice cop Gage Marshall ended badly doesn't mean he can't still give her the baby she's always wanted. In fact, she's willing to bet a couple of her favorite hand-knit boas that she can tie him up in knots he'll definitely enjoy.

An unexpected seduction is one thing, but stud service? No, thank you. Gage had his reasons for pulling the plug on his happily ever after with Jenna, and nothing that's happened since their divorce has changed his mind. That is, until Jenna got it into her head to tie him up and drag him down. Now he has no choice but to stick around until he knows for sure if his ex-wife is pregnant. But the more time he spends with Jenna, the more his resolve begins to unravel.

*****

Another enjoyable story from Heidi Betts. As to why I read this last, I'm not sure. Hahaha... Seeing the other characters from the other books is really fun! And here, I got to see Grace's breakdown. The start of their story that is the third book from the series. And of course, who wouldn't like Gage? :) I liked him and I think I kind of understand his fears. And it was good how we saw him come to terms with his fears and to move forward and be happy with Jenna.

When it comes to relationships, talk show host Grace Fisher won't stand for cheating - especially not from her fiance, star hockey goalie Zack Hoolihan. Her weekly knitting group backs her up when she calls it off, but that doesn't entirely ease the sting of betrayal. She won't listen to Zack's indignant explanations of innocence - she just wants to tie up loose ends and move on. Until he winds up injured, that is, and she finds herself playing nursemaid...

Zack doesn't know how that woman got into his hotel room, but he does know losing Grace has put him so far off his game, he's ended up with a busted knee and a broken heart. If things aren't mended fast, he'll miss the playoffs, miss his girl, and lose everything. But if Grace is willing to push him into physical therapy maybe he can pull her back into his arms - before their truce unravels. This time, he'll do everything it takes to knit their relationship back together...

*****

I enjoyed this... really! But honestly, what I just don't get is Grace. As to how she didn't trust Zack early on. Why she doesn't listen to his explanations and all. Why it took so long for her to realize that he was telling the truth all along. I don't even remember if it was explained why she was so untrusting. I kind of like the ending though.. Hahaha.. and sometimes, it's really nice when it's the other way around that's wooing the other. :)

WHERE THERE'S A WILL. . .
When pretty hairdresser Delaney Shaw returned home to Truly, Idaho, for the reading of her stepfather's will, she planned on paying her respects and getting out of town. But it seems the will has some unexpected stipulations-like the one that says if Delaney wants her inheritance she needs to stay put and have nothing to so with sexy Nick Allegrezza. . .for an entire year!

THERE'S NO WAY

Ten years ago, Nick had swept Delaney off her feet and onto his Harley, and that's when she really let her down her Hair! Back then, he was a love-'em-and-leave-'em man, and Delaney learned the hard way that she was just a fling. But Nick is as irresistible as ever. And when the ladies at Tuesday night Bingo see Nick and Delaney making after-hours whoopee through the window of a local beauty parlor, Delaney knows it's time to decide if Nick I truly, madly the man of her heart.

*****

Another fun and enjoyable read from Rachel Gibson. I've got a few laughs while reading this book - esp those during the poetry session.. :) And yes, there had been really serious situations but I think it was well-blended with the funny scenes that's why it worked for me. I loved learning about Nick and Delaney... how they've both unknowingly broken each other's hearts years ago. And how they met again and found true love again. :)

Book Splurge!

It's another Book shopping day for me and Conchi today! :) This is an impulse lakad since we just saw each other last weekend. She found out that FullyBooked Highstreet has a Sale for members today so we decided to go. :) We didn't buy anything from the sale.. LOL.. but we scored a couple of books parin. After Fullybooked, we went to A Different Bookstore and I got one book because of its "version". hahaha.. Then we had snacks/early dinner and we went to Glorietta to do some more book shopping. Total Books that I got: 7! Pumatas lang ako actually kay Conchi :)

Truly, Madly, Yours by Rachel Gibson (from FullyBooked Highstreet) - I've enjoyed the other Rachel Gibson books that I've read so far, so I bought another one :)

Loves Me, Loves Me Knot by Heidi Betts (from FullyBooked Highstreet) - The 1st book from the series was a fun read, so yeah, I'm trying this one out too.

Rules of Prey and Eyes of Prey by John Sandford (from FullyBooked Highstreet) - The 1st and 3rd book from the series. I was interested with this one because there was a news that Mark Harmon would be playing the main character from the series in a TV-movie. Conchi already started reading and she said it was like reading Criminal Minds. OK fine! I'm reading these ones as well :)

Radiant Shadows by Melissa Marr (from A Different Bookstore, Serendra) - I got this one already since it's the 1st time that I saw this particular version. I know it's going to be a pain to look for it, so, buy!

Beastly by Alex Flinn (from FullyBooked Highstreet) - This version is only available in Highstreet since most bookstores already has the movie version. :)

Timeless by Alexandra Monir (from Bibliarch, Glorietta) - I love the cover of this one! And in fairness, from the blurb, it looks like a promising book.

There are other books that I was so tempted to buy (like Rachel Ward's Numbers series) but I was able to control myself.. LOL.. maybe next month! :)

Until my next book splurge ;)

Catch Me... I'm In Love

To celebrate my Mom's 65th birthday, we went to Trinoma to watch Sarah and Gerald's movie Catch Me... I'm In Love.

I've heard a lot of feedback that they really liked this movie. And in fairness, enjoy naman pala talaga siya.

The movie is about Roxanne, a simple social worker, who was assigned to look out for none other than the President's stubborn and troublemaker son. They eventually ended up together but because of insecurities, they had to part ways.

It was a kilig movie. And really, when did Gerald turned so hunky? HAHAHAHA.... Siya na! Siya na ang top reason ba't ko na-like ang movie. LOL..

Aside from that, I think the secondary characters did good, especially Roxanne's family. They were really funny. And there were really kilig moments that even the others watching the movie were giggling and laughing with the characters. Though personally, I think the John Lloyd-Sarah tandem had the more kilig factor. I think they have more chemistry together than Sarah and Gerald. And Matteo's character wasn't really developed as the other guy in the story (maybe it wasn't really meant to be that?). Anyways, I was kinda hoping that there would be a kissing scene (come on! this is a love story... hahahhaa). But since it's Sarah, wala talaga. Which was bummer! and made me wish that it was Kim Chu instead.. hahaha

*****

I'm really starting to enjoy Bella Andre's books... :) And this is another enjoyable one. I found it sweet... I liked the differences between Cole and Anna. And I've seen their chemistry together. I liked that I saw the sweet side of Cole - towards his grandmother, towards Anna and even to Anna's students.

I'm done with the Bad Boys of Football series... what's next? LOL...

I think this is way better than the first book from the series. That's me being a sucker for unrequited love stories. Hahaha... I really enjoyed this one and I'm hoping that the next from the series is something I'd also enjoy :).

Let Rachel Gibson tell you about The Trouble with Valentine's Day:
that one day each year when being single is a sin.

Kate Hamilton should know. Dumped by her boyfriend, stressed out by her job, she's returned to Gospel, Idaho, for some rest and small-town fun. But when her first attempted seduction of a hunky stranger is completely rejected, she wonders what else could go wrong?

Well, for starters, she quickly realizes that the Mountain Momma Crafters' original poetry readings is about as good as it gets on a Friday night. Then she comes face-to-face with Rob Sutter, former ice hockey madman, owner of Sutter Sports -- and the hunky stranger who told her to get lost.

Rob's been more than burned by love -- but then he and Kate find themselves in an ultra-compromising position in the M & S Market after hours, giving the phrase "clean-up in aisle five" a whole new meaning, and causing a whole lot of gossip in Gospel ...

*****
True Love and Other Disasters is still number one in the running. Hahaha... I enjoyed but I was kind of hoping that there would be some sort of a connection with Rob's child with Kate... Yes, the child is not living with Rob but it was stressed out that Rob loved the kid. I guess, somehow, even just a little, there would be an interaction between all three of them. :)

It's been five years since Lily Ellis and Travis Carson got married and fell in love in TAKE ME....now it's finally time for Janica Ellis and Luke Carson to get their very own happy ending. If there's one thing that Janica Ellis is absolutely certain of, it's that she and Luke Carson are totally wrong for each other. She's a wild, artistic and outspoken fashion designer. He's a type A, workaholic trauma surgeon (who just happens to be sizzling hot and her brother-in-law!). But Janica is about to be proven wrong when opposites attract...in the sexiest possible way. After a life-changing night in the ER, Luke is desperate for escape - and relief from his personal demons. For five years he has fought his attraction to his sister-in-law, but when he's pushed too far, he can't fight it another second. He needs her. Desperately. He's spent his whole life doing the right thing. For one night, he's going to follow desire instead. Straight into Janica's arms. Janica can't believe Luke is finally at her front door...and that he's kissing her like he's been waiting his whole life to touch her. But even as their sensual connection deepens with every touch of skin on skin - and the man she always thought was such a good boy turns out to be sinfully, toe-curlingly bad between the sheets - Janica soon realizes she wants more than Luke's body. She wants his heart too. But what will Luke do when one night of extreme passion turns into an all or nothing proposition?

*****

We've met Janica (Lily's sister) and Luke (Travis' twin brother and Lily's bestfriend) in Take Me. Love Me is their story. I was honestly hoping that I'd like this like Take Me but I was mistaken. I think the plot and characters were just underdeveloped. For me, something's lacking. I never felt that I've connected with the characters and I also didn't feel the chemistry between the two.

This is Jane

A little subdued. A little stubborn. A little tired of going out on blind dates with men who drive vans with sofas in the back, Jane Alcott is living the Single Girl existence in the big city. She is also leading a double life. By day, she's a reporter covering the raucous Seattle Chinooks hockey team -- especially their notorious goalie Luc Martineau. By night, she's a writer, secretly creating the scandalous adventures of "Honey Pie" ... the magazine series that has all the men talking.

See Jane Spar

Luc has made his feelings about parasite reporters -- and Jane -- perfectly clear. But if he thinks he's going to make her life miserable, he'd better think again.

See Jane Attract

For as long as he can remember, Luc has been single-minded about his career. The last thing he needs is a smart-mouthed, pain-in-the-backside reporter digging into his past and getting in his way. But once the little reporter sheds her black and gray clothes in favor of a sexy red dress, Luc sees that there is more to Jane than originally meets the eye.

Maybe it's time to take a risk. Maybe it's time to live out fantasies. Maybe it's time to ... see Jane score.

*****
Another enjoyable read from Rachel Gibson. Though I've got to admit, True Love and Other Disasters is still my faavorite among the lot. But I really enjoyed Jane's character and how she braved the whole hockey team, especially Luc. And it was fun seeing all the other players and their "tradition" were really funny.

And on to the next Chinooks player...

First in a new series about some hard-riding rodeo cowboys...and the women who can rein them in.

Sports therapist Lainie Capshaw has been rehabilitating injured cowboys long enough to know that a charming western drawl combined with a fine physical form doesn't mean you fall for the man.

So no one is more surprised than Lainie when she finds herself involved with not one, but two different men: Hank Lawson, a bullfighter, and Kyle Gilchrist, a bull rider. Lainie feels guilty about her two-timing, but it doesn't keep her from doubling her fun-that is until Hank catches her with Kyle.

She's shocked that Hank isn't mad. But she's more shocked to learn Hank and Kyle are hometown buddies. But when the men offer to share her-in every way-she knows that she's going to have to choose the one man who can give her the ride of her life...

*****

Whew! Kaya ko pala siya basahin. Hahahaha.... This has been wayyy more than I'm accustomed to reading and I guess you just have to keep an open mind. Well, I already knew who she ended up with since I've read the second book from the series first. Hahaha.. But I was really curious to know how she ended up with who she ended up with. :) I think I'm now having a thing for cowboys. HAHAHAHA... Can't wait for the story of that Cowboy who wasn't picked...

An appetite for sensual pleasures must never be denied...

Lily Ellis has curves -- soft, beautiful curves. The kind of voluptuous body she fears Travis Carson, the man she's always loved from afar, would never crave. But Lily is about to be proven wrong. Her adventure begins when the demure San Francisco interior decorator agrees to model a plus-size dress for her fashion designer sister. Watching this sensual beauty move down the runway, Travis can't believe it's the same Lily he's always known -- and always rejected. In a whirlwind of electric attraction, Lily is soon moaning Travis's name in his bed, not just in her wild fantasies. But Lily is all too aware that she's nothing like his past lovers.

Determined to beat Travis at his own game by guarding her true feelings, Lily partners with him on a business deal that takes them all the way to Italy. In the seductive warmth of the Tuscan sun, Lily plays a game of desire with the hot-blooded Travis. Will she be burned by an all-consuming ecstasy or will Travis open his heart to the sexy, exciting, and lasting love she has to offer?

*****

I always see this on the bookshelves in bookstores and I'm curious if this is any good. In fairness, I did enjoy it. :) I guess it's because of that long unrequited love. As I've mentioned a couple of times before, I've always been a sucker for that kind of love stories. :) Though, I think Lily's issue of being insecure of herself had been pushed too long... When I thought that it's over already, it's the same again at the end and it was already getting old. But putting those aside, overall, I still enjoyed reading this book.

After reading Nothing But Trouble, I've wanted to read about the other Captain of the Chinooks. And while going bookstore-hopping with Conchi yesterday, I found the book and just have to get myself a copy. Yey! :) And i wasn't disappointed. I enjoyed this one as much as I enjoyed Nothing But Trouble. And it kinda reminded me of a book by Susan Elizabeth Phillips which also inherited a team (though SEP got a football team.. hahaha). Anyways, I guess all of us likes a sassy heroine.. and we got that in Faith and a hottie jock which of course, we got in Ty :).And the ending was funny! A love that bit about Sam ;)

Though it's been years since the infamous Macy O'James stepped foot in Sugarville, Washington, everyone remembers what she supposedly did. The tiny town is still buzzing about her crime and lack of punishment.

Now back to lend her family a hand, Macy vows to hold her head high—especially at her high school reunion. But forget about the hottest man in Sugarville escorting her. Though she and fire chief Gabriel Donovan generate enough sparks to burn down the town, he's a law-abiding, line-toeing straight arrow. So not her type.

But maybe—just maybe—he can change her mind about that.

*****

I enjoyed this one. It's always fun seeing sparks fly and the hero and heroine just don't admit it to themselves that there's something going on with them :). It's funny and sweet. It's really lighthearted and fun to read. I was hoping that Jacl and Grace would have a story of their own but it seems it's already included in this one. =p.

March Meetup with Conchi and Kathy

For March, we decided to meetup in Megamall because Kathy has work at Megatrade Hall that day.

Anyways, Conchi and I met-up first and then we headed up at Megatrade to pick up Kathy. We had lunch somewhere at the Atrium wherein we got Chicken Marsala and Pasta...

After lunch, Kathy had to go back at Megatrade Hall, so it's just Conchi and me. The rest of the day was spent on bookstore hopping.. LOL... from NBS and Powerbooks in Megamall, then Powerbooks and Fullybooked Trinoma up to NBS Booksellers, NBS and Fullybooked at SM North.. yeah, 7 Bookstores! :)

Of course I was able to get some books!

- True Love and Other Disasters by Rachel Gibson

- Flat-Out Sexy by Erin McCarthy - I love this series and I'm really aiming to get myself hardcopies of the books!

- Hourglass by Claudia Gray - Success! I didn't think I'll still find a non-International copy of this here. But surprise surprise! Powerbooks had two copies and I grabbed one for myself (ang hirap pag-OC ka sa version!)

Gillian is a PR expert hired to smooth out the rough edges on hot- headed sports club president Drew Black. He's rough, raw and ready for any challenge Gillian throws his way. But which one's going to end up on top?

*****

Honestly, it took me awhile to warm up to this book. I don't know why.. Maybe I'm not into MMA or something? Or maybe it's something else? It just didn't sit well much for me.. I didn't like the side-story much at the beginning - the one of Audrey and Brett. I was hoping the story would have focused more on Drew and Gillian. Oh well... I kinda liked the ending though... And as to how Gillian and Drew admitted their feelings for each other. :)

Pushing the sensual limits can set off all kinds of alarms…

Inheriting her grandmother’s home is a dream come true for web designer Maxine Turner. She’s looking forward to a little freedom from the constant demands of her beloved, crazy mob of a family. When vandals expose just how vulnerable she is living alone, she seeks help.

Ryan Claymore’s well-thought-out life was wrenched out from under him when responsibility for his special-needs stepbrother landed on his shoulders. Going from military man to business man hasn’t been easy. He counts himself lucky he’s found Maxine to trade his security-system knowledge for her website expertise.

The red-hot chemistry that sizzles between them comes from out of the blue, and they both fight a losing battle to resist. Even the secret Ryan hides isn’t enough to keep Maxine from working her way into his heart—and his bed.

But something else might tear them apart. Whoever seems determined to destroy her home, and her sanity along with it.

Warning: Realistic multiple orgasm sex scenes, men getting in touch with their emotions, brothers being—well—brothers, and a very tempting back-porch swing…you have been warned.

*****

I was a little confused at first. I thought this was the 2nd book... and I was wondering why it was tagged as the 1st book. It turns out, this was released first but it happened after the 2nd book (Max and Tasha's). Anyways, I think it was ok. I just don't get the mystery side of the story. I didn't like it that much. There seem to be some loopholes on that side of the story. I think it could have been done better. The start was really nice though - I loved how Ryan and Max met. :)

He sure would love to have someone to take care of...

Dr. Mike Flynn's single mom taught him early how to cook and clean, and there's nothing like vacuuming or doing dishes to help a guy relax. Annabelle Ronaldi is an artist without a domestic bone in her body. Since her fiance's death, she can't paint, and life looks hopeless.

Until the day after her sister's wedding, when she wakes up with Mike next to her in bed, and then she's really beside herself - because the handsome stranger is a dead ringer for her dead fiance.

After their mind-blowing one night stand, Mike is sure this is the woman he wants to take care of forever, but she acts like she's seen a ghost. While Mike sets to work wooing Annabelle, she sets to work sniffing out the truth of the convoluted family secret that turns everybody's lives upside down.

*****

I'm still debating with myself if this is my favorite or Yours for the Taking. Hahaha... I loved the story and I guess I was able to connect with the main characters. By now, I know the rest of the secondary characters and I guess I now feel more comfortable in their world. It's nice finally knowing how these two got together (since of course in Book 3 - Breakfast In Bed, they are already married). I think the side story is kinda nice too - the one about Becky and her dad, and her dad's past. And who wouldn't want a hunkababe doctor for a hero? I think I've been watching too much Grey's! hahahha :)

I can't wait for a new Robin Kaye book very soon! I hope she releases one :)

Rosalie Ronaldi doesn't have a domestic bone in her body ...

All she cares about is her career, so she survives on take-out and dirty martinis, keeps her shoes under the dining room table, her bras on the shower curtain rod, and her clothes on the couch ...

Nick Romeo is every woman's fantasy - tall, dark, handsome, rich, really good in bed, AND he loves to cook and clean ...

He says he wants an independent woman, but when he meets Rosalie, all he wants to do is take care of her. Before too long, he's cleaned up her apartment, stocked her refrigerator, and adopted her dog ...

So what's the problem? Just a little matter of mistaken identity, corporate theft, a hidden past in juvenile detention and one big nosy Italian family too close for comfort ...

*****

Robin Kaye's debut book and my 3rd read. The same as the first 2, I also enjoyed this one. Though I have to admit that it's not my favorite. Nonetheless, it was really a good read. As always, I get to see the rest of the characters.. have a glimpse on who they are and it's always kind of nice reading series and sort of get this feeling that, hey, I know this one and that one... they're featured in book... etc etc.. I saw the kick-ass Gina, playing as Rosalie's bestfriend, of course the rest of the Ronaldi siblings, Nick''s family and of course, Rosalie's neighbors - Wayne and Henry. I enjoyed Rosalie and Nick's chemistry.. and I love their dog, Dave! A really nice one to start the series.
